
Operation Air Force (Ops AF)
The Operation Air Force (Ops AF) program is a three-week program designed to give cadets the opportunity to experience firsthand everything an operational Air Force base has to offer. Cadets are immersed into the Air Force way of life on an Air Force base through the use of tours, receiving hands-on experience, and by shadowing Air Force personnel in a variety of career fields. Ops AF locations include stateside and overseas Air Force bases. Ops AF has three separate and distinct programs to offer depending on your academic year and/or major.
- Ops AF Noncom: This program is available to AS100sAerospace Studies. Freshman-level course focusing on the structure and missions of Air Force organizations, officership and professionalism. (rising sophomores) and mandatory for Type 1Pays full college tuition, most fees and $900 per year for books. and Type 2Pays college tuition and most fees up to $15,000, and pays $900 per year for books. High School Scholarship ProgramProvides 3- and 4-year scholarships in three different types to high school seniors. (HSSP) winners. The intent of this program is to shadow members of the enlisted force in various career fields on an active duty Air Force base and receive a greater appreciation/understanding of the importance of the enlisted force. During this program you may also receive an orientation flight on an Air Force aircraft (although not guaranteed).
- Ops AF Brevet Lieutenant: This program is available to AS300sAerospace Studies. Junior-level course studying the anatomy of leadership, the need for quality and management leadership, the role of discipline in leadership situations and the variables affecting leadership. (rising seniors). The intent of this program is to shadow a junior officer on an active duty Air Force base and to provide a general orientation to the junior officer role in the Air Force. When possible we will try to match you to an officer in your selected career field.
- Ops AF Brevet Lieutenant – OSI: This program is available to AS300s (rising seniors) interested or selected for the Office of Special Investigation (OSI) career field. This program required a secret security clearance. The intent of this program is to shadow an OSI officer and make every attempt to accomplish your career field interview (necessary for entrance into OSI).
