Air Force Academy Soaring (SOARScholarships for Outstanding Airmen to ROTC - allows enlisted personnel to separate from active duty and receive a scholarship worth up to $15,000 per year while pursuing their commission through Air Force ROTC.)

The purpose of Air Force Academy Soaring (SOAR) is to form the foundation of cadet exposure to military aviation, build character, and help motivate cadets toward a career in the United States Air Force. This 15-day program (located at the US Air Force Academy) is the largest glider operation in the world. The SOAR program provides a motivational experience available for AS100Aerospace Studies. Freshman-level course focusing on the structure and missions of Air Force organizations, officership and professionalism. (rising sophomore) and AS300Aerospace Studies. Junior-level course studying the anatomy of leadership, the need for quality and management leadership, the role of discipline in leadership situations and the variables affecting leadership. (rising senior) cadets. Selected cadets experience soaring in the TG-10B (L-23 Super Blanik) which familiarizes them with aircraft controls, the ever-present checklist, pattern work, and the perspective to earth. There is a weight limit for this program of 215lbs. Limited space makes this a very competitive program.
