Logistics Readiness

The Logistics Readiness position is responsible for the integration of distribution, materiel management and contingency operations within the operational, acquisition, and wholesale environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for directing operations such as logistics planning, deployment command and control, Logistics Readiness Centers, logistics command and control, Combat Support Center activities, deployment, bed-down, and redeployment activities. Directs vehicle management operations, evaluates quality of operator care and maintenance, determines operational requirements and specifications, develops policies and procedures for the administration of vehicle abuse and misuse programs.

Coordinates contingency transportation support requirements and capabilities with other agencies. Coordinates military and commercial aircraft schedules with appropriate control and operations centers and flight line agencies. Directs distribution management operations to include managing cargo distribution functions such as receiving, inspecting, tracing, tracking, packaging, and shipping of supplies, equipment and war readiness spares.

Duties and Responsibilities

Usually, logistic planners are directed to a specific field, including transportation, supply and maintenance. In this role, you will assist with the preparation and analysis of annual business plans; run monthly forecast cycles for any kind of materials; conduct inventory forecasting; develop and manage international data and reporting systems; and monitor the overall business environment, modifying systems and databases accordingly. Additionally, the logistic planner will manage all data transfer between affiliate customers and international logistics; apply new technology to solve business problems; improve department efficiency; and redesign supply chains. Some international travel is required in most jobs.
