Pediatric Dentist

Examines, diagnoses and treats diseases, abnormalities, injuries and dysfunctional disorders of the oral cavity and its associated structures in children.

Duties and Responsibilities

Pediatric Dentists examine child patients and interpret radiographs and diagnostic tests to determine the type and extent of dental diseases and disabilities or dysfunctions. They evaluate their findings and prescribes the type, extent and order of treatment required, restoring the health and function of carious, fractured or otherwise defective teeth. Pediatric Dentists provide behavior management techniques and performs oral surgery, endodontic, prosthodontic and interceptive orthodontic treatment on children. They also provide consultation services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Civilian Pediatric Dentists perform the same type of work as their military counterparts. They are directly responsible for clients, as well as office staff, billing and planning. Pediatric Dentists focus on preventative and early prognosis of all associated dental disease, referring patients to specialists when the prognosis dictates.
